Why use a freight forwarding service?
At Worldwide Customs and Forwarding Agents, our freight forwarding service streamlines the process for you. We work with you to manage the logistics of your delivery from start to finish. Our freight forwarding is a holistic service, and takes into account your shipping documents, freight rates, customs clearance, packing, insurance, road transport, and the delivery of your cargo to its intended destination.
Put simply, we take full responsibility of your cargo to ensure it reaches its destination. With a network of official channels and trusted industry contacts, we integrate with the necessary airline or sealane carriers to ensure every step in the process is managed for you.
What is the freight forwarding process?
The freight forwarding process includes a number of different steps, depending on your transport needs. Here are the five main stages involved:
We get the wheels moving
Also known as export haulage, we move your goods from your original location to our warehouse. We then review your cargo and ensure all your goods are present and accounted for.
Export customs clearance
We work with expert customs brokers to provide all the necessary details of your cargo and ensure you have the necessary customs clearance in place that allow your goods to leave the country.
Transport
We transport your cargo to where it needs to go, using your preferred method of transport. Air, rail, road, or sea, we’ve got you covered.
Import customs clearance
We manage your import customs and provide all the details they need to allow your cargo into the country.
The last leg
We arrange transport of your cargo, and see it safely to its arrival destination.
How do I choose the right freight forwarding service?
Choosing the right freight forwarding service is about finding the company that you trust to take full responsibility for your cargo.
A reputable freight forwarding company will seek first to understand your needs, then provide a solution. They’ll ask the right questions to understand what it is you need to transport, how you want to get it there, and help you choose the best transport method that works with your timeline and budget.
It’s also critical that they provide flexibility in how they work. After all, things may not always go to plan, and issues can crop up that require quick thinking. Your freight forwarding service must be able to provide alternative options that deliver on your needs.
It should be a partnership: they’re helping you achieve your outcome. So their communication needs to be open, honest, and transparent. You’re kept in the loop across all their operations and pricing structures.
So we recommend when you find a freight forwarding service you’re considering, ask around. Check with colleagues and contacts, read online reviews, and make sure you hear good things about their service.

While freight forwarding and logistics both involve similar operations, they’re two different services.
Freight forwarding is the comprehensive coordination and management of delivering goods from one location to another. It’s focused purely on the transport and delivery of your goods from A to B.
Logistics, on the other hand, covers a far wider scope, of which freight management is just one element. Logistics includes freight forwarding, but also involves managing transportation, fleet, warehousing, inventory, supply & demand, and third-party logistics as well.
We handle the entire process for you from start to finish, from pickup to delivery. We involve our global network of trusted agents to coordinate the paperwork, customs, transport, travel, and timing, so you don’t have to.
We’re not locked into a contract with any one carrier. Instead, we have a wide range of trusted global and local carriers that we work with. For your freight forwarding needs, we’ll identify which of our network will offer the best service, best rates, and fastest deliver at that time.
We help you access the size of container that best suits your transport needs. However, the most common sized containers we supply to our customers are the 20-foot and 40-foot shipping containers.

About Melbourne
Melbourne is Victoria’s largest city and also serves as the state’s capital. It boasts a population of five million, commonly referred to as Melburnians.
The traditional name for the land upon which Melbourne sits is ‘Naarm’, and was home to Indigenous people for 40,000 years before the arrival of European settlers who founded the new city and named it after British Prime Minister, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. In 1851, Melbourne became the capital of the new colony of Victoria.
Thanks to the gold rush in the mid-1980s Melbourne saw a boom period, and by the turn of the century had become one of the world's wealthiest cities.
Today, Melbourne is a leading financial centre, and is known for its food, culture, sport, education and liveability.
